I am feeling so guilty that I've not posted an update on my blog since October 9th! I was enjoying having time with Sophia as she was off nursery for her October holidays so we were doing lots of activities, visiting family and even enjoyed the odd day lounging around. So much has happened since I last posted. First thing I guess is that I handed my notice into work, I have mixed feeling about this. I worked in childcare but the hours no longer suited family life. I hunted high and low for someone to watch Sophia for a few hours per day but that search wasn't successful and myself & Bruce came to the conclusion that for what I earned per hour vs the price of childcare for Sophia it just wasn't worth it financially. I am seriously missing all the children I worked with, missing the adult company and the change of scenery! Don't get me wrong, the fact I get to spend more time with Sophia is brilliant but work was my tiny bit of independence and it's tough giving that up! I just have to make sure I don't loose my identity and keep motivated so I don't end up in a funk with myself. Now is the time to focus on my family and who knows that the future will hold!
The holidays have mainly involved visiting family, shopping, eating out and little adventures. One thing we did was visit a science center in Aberdeen called Satrosphere. Sophia had such a good time playing with all the interactive bits and pieces, I haven't been since I was a child so I got to release my inner child again and who doesn't love doing that!? We also got to go into this inflatable dome/tent where they project videos onto it. You lay back and it's like you are zooming through the stars and onto different planets. This had Sophia shouting "woooooow!" at the top of her voice and the smile on her face was priceless.
Also with Halloween coming up, which is my favorite time of year! I just love it! I got Sophia an adorable cat outfit, we have our pumpkins that I also bought colour changing led tea lights for some extra effect. I attempted to practice painting Sophia's face but it ended up with Sophia practicing on me. What could possibly go wrong when you let a 3 year old loose with face paints? I think we will stay in on Halloween, Sophia has been scared of some decorations so at least she can see trick or treaters and anything too scary we can quite easily avoid. Once she is in bed Bruce and I will get cosy with a horror film, nibbles and I might even treat myself to a cocktail or two!

UTAN & Tone review
It is finally time for me to do my UTAN & Tone review! Now I bought this tan back in late August I think it was? But never got round to tanning, past experiences with tan have taught me never use it when you have nice white bedding on or have things to do like running around after a toddler. So last Sunday I had a wedding and I needed a tan no matter what, I am whiter than Casper! Being pale I find tans can just make me bright orange (never a good look on anyone!) so I was being pretty brave testing this the night before a wedding, what is the worst that could happen?
I have both the turbo time controlled lotion which is £25.00 and the medium weekly self tan lotion which is £20.00. As I was staying with my sister and I didn't want to cover her house with tan I thought I would try the turbo time controlled lotion, that way I could wash it off before bed. Now I do not look glamorous whilst tanning, I have to stretch into the strangest of positions to make sure I am completely covered. I am all ready to go, but the tan won't come out! I stood for around 10 minutes just pushing the pump praying it would decided to share some tan with me but no. Now I did contact UTAN & they have suggested I bang the bottle off of a hard surface incase an air bubble is causing an issue with the pump but I haven't tried this yet.
Thankfully and for some strange reason I had taken both lotions with me to Glasgow. I just had to tell my sister I would be going to bed, wearing tan and would buy her some new bedding... it was the dreaded cream bedding! This tan was so easy to apply, it spread really well, it didn't have an overly strong tanning smell like many other brands on the market and my favourite thing was I didn't feel greasy or even like I had fake tan on! In the morning when I woke up the bedding was clean! Not a mark in sight! This was amazing, Finally a tan that doesn't ruin bed sheets or rub off on clothes!
Colour wise I noticed a huge difference for my skin tone, it was a beautiful colour. Enough for people to notice I looked different but not to go "oh you've used fake tan!" Or crack the Casper/milk bottle jokes. 5 days on I still have some colour to me, it has of course faded as expected but it's faded evenly. I don't have any patchy bits and it's not gone scaley looking. I 100% recommend this tan to everyone.
I'm not missing!
Hi everyone! I feel like I haven't updated this blog in a while but things have been crazy. We have all been sick, then we got better and then Sophia, Bruce and I all got ill again! My head has been fried and every time I've came on to write something I have literally not even managed to put a sentence together.
We got back from Glasgow on Monday night with a tired, slightly sick Sophia, we traveled down on Friday and stayed with my sister which was lovely and on Sunday Bruce and myself attended Bruce's cousins wedding. Its been a long weekend of shopping, eating and celebrating. The wedding was great, it's always lovely to share a couples big day with them and to catch up with people you don't get to see often. Sophia also had her first experience on the subway which she loved and wouldn't stop smiling like a Cheshire Cat. She had her first visit to the Hard Rock Cafe and even picked up a little souvenir which I don't think she has actually put down since we got it. I love little family trips away, it's so important to spend quality time together as a family. Sophia also decided to grow attached to a new Peppa Pig hat my mum bought her, but whenever I fixed how it was sat on her head she decided she knew how to style herself better!
I absolutely love Glasgow, you can always find something to do and of course, the shopping is way better than Aberdeen. The people are friendly and there is something for everyone. The driving got a tiny bit crazy because the Great Scottish Run was on and it seemed that google maps wanted me to turn onto every road that happened to be closed for the runners to do their thing. I also finally used my Utan & tone tan this weekend, I will do a separate post about this because it was not a drama free tanning experience... it involved absolute panic and me thinking I was going to have to attend the wedding with proper milk bottle legs! It all worked out for the best though! I also visited a makeup store which is called Kiko and have purchased myself a foundation to try out which I will cover in another post covering my store experience & foundation review!
Also when I got home I was greeted by a lovely black envelope which contained my new Mac lipstick!!! I've not had the chance to try it yet and I tried the Mac store on Buchanan Street but unfortunately they didn't have their new lipsticks in store for me to try so that is another thing on my to do list!
